From the library screen, tap the add button and choose an EPUB, a PDF, a web article URL, or paste text directly. Inhale Words takes it from there.
The first time you open a book, run the built-in calibration passage — it suggests a comfortable top speed based on how you read it. From there, adjust the slider any time. Speed is saved per book, so a dense paper and a quick novel can each have their own pace.
Focal mode flashes one word at a time with its optimal recognition point bolded. Chunk mode flashes two to four words per beat, for readers who find single words choppy. Text view is a traditional scrolling page, sitting right alongside RSVP — switch mid-session whenever you want a break.
Hold on a word to start a highlight and release when it ends. Every highlight you save automatically becomes a flashcard, ready to flip through from your book's highlights screen.
Chapter summaries, the AI quiz, and ideas search need iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled, or a Gemini Nano-compatible Android device (Pixel 6 and later, select Samsung models). On older devices, the rest of the app works exactly the same — those three features just won't appear.
Subscriptions are managed entirely through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings — under Subscriptions, find Inhale Words and cancel there. We never see or handle billing directly.
