Inhale Words is built on a simple premise: your reading list is nobody's business but yours. This policy is short because there isn't much to explain.
No account. No tracking. No ads. No data collected. Inhale Words doesn't know who you are, doesn't want to, and has nothing to sell to anyone who might.
Nothing that identifies you. Specifically, Inhale Words:
Your library, highlights, notes, reading speed, themes, and stats stay on your device — as does the AI voice model described below, if you choose to download it. If your device backs up to iCloud or a Google account, that backup is handled entirely by your operating system, under your platform's own privacy terms. Inhale Words has no visibility into it either way.
Chapter summaries, the AI quiz, and ideas search run entirely on your device, powered by Apple Intelligence on iOS and Gemini Nano on Android. Your text is never sent to any server to generate these responses. These features require iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled, or an Android device with Gemini Nano support (Pixel 6 and later, select Samsung Galaxy devices). On devices that don't meet these requirements, they're simply shown as unavailable — everything else works the same.
Inhale Words also offers optional AI read-aloud voices, which work differently. Rather than using your device's built-in AI, they run on a voice model — about 360MB — downloaded once from our server if you choose to enable them. From that point on, narration happens entirely on your device. Your book text is never transmitted to generate the audio, and Apple Intelligence and Gemini Nano are not required.
Subscriptions are billed and processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Inhale Words never sees your card details, billing address, or payment history.
Because Inhale Words collects no personal data from anyone, that protection applies equally regardless of age. We do not knowingly — or unknowingly — collect information from children.
If this policy changes, it will be because the app changed in a way that requires it — not because we found something new to collect. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
Inhale Words is a React Native app with a SQLite database on your device — that's the whole app. The only server involved hosts the optional voice model file: it sends that file to you and receives nothing in return. No accounts, no database, nothing collected — and nothing for it to leak even if someone tried.
